The wonderful thing about a Reiki session is that it is gentle and non-invasive to the client who remains fully clothed. The client is most likely apt to drift off into and enjoy a deep meditative sleep while the Reiki Energy address unhealed physical, emotional, mental and spiritual issues or imbalances on a very deep level.

Reiki Healing Sessions are also useful for addressing specific physical injuries, aliments and many diseases. It has been found to dramatically shorten the physical healing time 
of most physical problems or injuries

A session is often going to be soothing, relaxing and rejuvenating for the client and usually lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, hour and a half, depending on needs and intent of the client and the input from Guidance. The client will typically feel a sensation of mild to intense heat in different locations as the session proceeds. 

The general intent of a Reiki session is to work 
with this intelligent source directed energy in order to balance the body. mind and spirit ... working from the crown down to the feet ... 
and from one side of the body to the other.  Traditionally while the client lays first on their 
back and then on their stomach for the most 
complete session.

Reiki has traditionally has been a hands-on technique using specific hand positions on the body. However, I generally tend to work more 
in the energy field and aura. I have many times used Reiki to work on releasing out-dated behaviors, attitudes and beliefs which are no longer in alignment with the soul and body's 
current life experience.
